About SunClause
SunClause creates compliance toolkits for private landlords in England navigating the Renters' Rights Act 2025. Our first product covers Phase 1 of the Act, helping landlords understand and implement the requirements that took effect on 1 May 2026.
Why We Created SunClause
SunClause was created by a group of landlords who recognised a real problem in the market. After speaking with peers, letting agents, and others working in the private rented sector, we realised something: while most people had heard about the Renters' Rights Act and the earlier Renters' Reform Bill, we felt nobody had a proper, practical explanation of what actually needed to be done.
The information out there was mostly news commentary, political coverage, or vague legal summaries. None of it told landlords exactly what steps to take with their tenancy agreements, possession processes, or rent increases. If you wanted to become compliant, you were left piecing it together from scattered sources.
So we decided to create a toolkit that explains everything simply. We wanted something that helps landlords become compliant with minimal fuss, and delivers it at a very affordable one-off price. We believe the toolkit explains the new requirements in plain English and gives landlords a clear, practical path to compliance.
Who Prepares Our Content
The SunClause Compliance Desk is a small editorial team with professional backgrounds in UK residential property management, landlord compliance, and regulatory change.
For complex situations or legal concerns, you should seek independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor or licensed conveyancer.
How We Work
Every section of our toolkits is sourced from official sources and cross-referenced against primary legislation:
- GOV.UK guidance and resources
- Renters' Rights Act 2025 (c. 26)
- Housing Act 1988 as amended
- MHCLG implementation guidance
Where official guidance has not yet been published, we mark content clearly as PLANNED or FUTURE so you know what to expect.
Each page shows the review date, so you can see when content was last checked against current guidance. When government guidance changes, we review our toolkits and may publish revised editions.
